This fashionable sneaker bootie will transform those ratty old comfy tennis shoes into a sporty new look with half the cost of a new pair that would take months to break in. Using a few child's play scissor skills, some old shoes, three hats, sewing pins, sewing machine (or other appropriate sewing system), some thread, and glue gun with glue sticks those old sneakers will give you another ten years of team spirit like never before.

1 Pair of worn out shoes
3 Matching team caps
Scissors
Glue gun and glue sticks (glue sticks not shown)
Matching thread
Sewing machine optional
Sewing pins

Remove Tags
Remove tags
Remove Button
Cut a small hole in the top of the cap to remove the button.
Trim Seams
Cut the seams down as shown, to allow enough room to insert foot.
Folding and Pinning
Fold down the triangle shapes as shown and pin into place.
Sew the Hem
Sew along the top edge as close to the edge as possible removing pins as you sew.
Trimming the Extra Fabric
Trim off the triangle shapes close to the stitching as shown.
Repeat step 6 to add strength.

Gluing
Glue the booties to the shoe using glue as shown. You could use an idustrial strength glue like Gorilla Glue, super glue, or some other form of adhesive. Upon retrospect, we thought about using a snap gun and installing snaps to the bootie for more flexible styles.
