Donation Collector Card

When I think of staying warm during difficult seasons, I think of soldiers and the sick.

During the polio epidemic in the United States, the organization March of the Dimes introduced donation fund booklets as a way to raise money for the cause. Later, other organizations designed booklets to support the troops.

Driven by the artwork created by March of the Dimes, I created this donation collector card.

In the 2000s, these cards were usually in grocery stores, placed next to cash registers, where people paid in cash and could donate their spare change.

Nowadays, QR codes that reveal links to fundraisers are more common.

Materials:

• Figma or any other graphic design software (Computer / Internet Access)
• Printer / Paper
• Cardboard
• Scissors
• Glue

Choose an organization that you would like to support.

Pick a design relevant to your cause. The dimensions of the design should match those of a half-sheet of printer paper (4 in x 6 in).

Add an encouraging slogan relevant to your cause.

Choose a coin value according to your country. Choose the number of slots that fit in your design. Add incremental cent values below each slot.

Use a graphic illustration software to create your design.

Print out the design on paper or cardstock.

Glue your design to cardboard.

Cut your design out from the cardboard. Make sure to cut across the slots so the coins can fit.

Add a kickstand to the back of the design so it can stand on its own.

Share at a lemonade stand or flea market to support your cause.
