Dog ID Tag

I made a Dog ID Tag using laser engraving and a piece of sparkly plastic.

Supplies

A sheet of think-ish plastic, of any color

Adobe Fresco and/or Express

A laser engraving machine

A white or black colored pencil or dry erase marker

Finally, an animal to give it to

Drawing

Draw the shape you would like the tag to be in black and make sure to add the hole to put in on their collar. I did this using Adobe Fresco.

Lettering and Export

Once finished, export the project as a PNG and save it to files.

Prepping to Engrave

Send the PNG of the tag to your laser printers application. Set cutting x4, this can vary depending on what material you are using and thickness.

Engrave

Run the perimeter on the machine and line up the material you are using for the tag with it. Then, close the machine and run the job. Mine took around two minutes to complete.

Remove

Once the machine indicates the job is complete open the machine, remove the material, and pop the tag out!

Emphasize the Lettering

Coloring the engraved lettering with either a colored pencil or a dry erase marker to emphasize your text.

Complete!

Put it on your pet and enjoy!
