A small dog house for inside

Supplies

1/8 inch plywood, nails, paint, 2 by 4, wood glue, screws, hammer, saw (coping saw recommended)

Design

Think of how you want the dog house to look like and find the dimensions that you want and think of if you want the roof or not

Frame

IMG_0004.jpg

make the frame it can be any size the frame is the skeleton of the house make sure the frame is strong because it is going to be supporting all the panels. the frame in this photo is the two by four on the outside edge make the frame like the outline of the house use screws to connect the two by fours it you don't want a roof skip step 3

Roof

first nail 2 two by fours at a ninety degree angle that will become the top of the roof then make three of them and connect them with one going in between all of them the yellow wood piece is the one going through all of them this will be the frame of the roof

Panels

now that you have the frame put the panels on the sides and see if if fits if it goes off the edge that is fine because you can cut the panels into the right size.if you want a window like in the second photo then cut it out before nailing on the panel. If you want to nail before you cut the non window or door panels go to step 5 before cutting. Use a pencil or pen to draw a line of where it it going off the edge then cut the panel to the right size. repeat this step for all panels

Panels 2

place the panels on the side and nail them to the side I recommend that you put the entire house sideways so that you are nailing downward.do this for all wall sides. DO NOT nail the doorway because it is hard to do the door with it attached. if you did not previously cut the panels to size then cut the part of the panel that is hanging off the side.

Door

IMG_0003.jpg

have the panels that are going to be the door and cut out the door shape and nail the door panels on. the bottom panel will become two pieces try to make the bottom panels line up with the top

Painting Outside

the main part of the house should be finished and you can now paint it we painted this one a cream color and the dark wood details later once it is painted let it dry

Detail Two by Four

IMG_0006.jpg

the two by four detail is the dark wood and it is normal two by four we painted a dark color don't use nails on the details use wood glue or hot glue

Little Detail
