Dog Earphone Case

Hello everyone!

I will be showing you how to make a earphone holder. This will prevent those annoying earphone wires from tangling up and making themselves impossible to use. It will also make your earphones easier to find because this cant exactly get lost in a heap of wires on your desk.

I hope you like it!

Supplies

  • an old plastic chewing gum or mints container (with a lid)
  • black paper ( or use my attched PDF)
  • untangled earphones ( preferably black or white but you can adapt the dog to the colour of your earphones)
  • a black permanent marker

Essentials

  • craft knife
  • scissors
  • glue ( I used super glue)
  • glue stick (optional)

First you need to take your mints or gum container and cut a hole in the back of it so that the audio jack can fit through it. This audio jack will act as the tail on your dog

Now you need to cut the top part of the container where the lid is so that the cable can go out of the container wether it is closed or not.

Close the lid and the earpieces should look like floppy ears. Next, attach some black pieces of paper to the container with super glue so that it looks like a spotty dog. I have attached a PDF with black shapes like on the picture in case you dont have black paper at home. The PDF also contains a net for a dog basket but if you dont want to print it off and make it, you can just copy the black shapes onto a new document without the net and print them off

Now add a face for your dog. It is best to use permanent marker but you can always use a felt tip and apply several coats.

This step is optional but if you go to the attached PDF on step 3 you will be able to find the net of a dog basket. If it is too small for your case, you can just make a similar net using the net I made as a guide. Here is how to assemble it

  1. cut out the net, it should be one shape ( do not cut the circle away from the long rectangle)
  2. fold the rectangle up so it creates the start of a wall around the circle
  3. wrap the rectangle around the circle so it looks like the picture above
  4. glue the two small tabs that say glue on them to the edge of the circle and finally glue the bigger tab so you get a dog basket

Done!

You have made a little dog earphone case! Just pull the earpieces out from the head to lenghen them and then open the lid and pull them back inside when you are finished with them. The same goes of the audio jack on the other side. If you always put your dog case in the mini dog basket when you are finished with it, you will never have to search again for it!
