Do You Want to Build a Snowflake?

Snowflakes take on a wide variety of intricate shapes, either as a single ice crystal or an aggregation of ice crystals as they fall through the Earth's atmosphere; and hence the popular expression that "no two are alike". Snowflakes represent the traditional White Christmas. At the outset, quilled snowflakes may seem easy to make but takes a lot of effort to assemble the tiny pieces together to create the wonderful pattern.
These sparkling quilled snowflakes add elegance to the Christmas tree and can be a great idea for gifting. Let's build our snowflake with the instructables.
Materials Required

Roll Into Desired Shapes

Roll the white quilling strip to the desired shapes as illustrated in the picture
1. Quill the 56cms long strips into 7 eccentric coils
2. Refer to the detailed instructions in the second image, to create closed crescent shapes
3. Roll the 7cms long strips into closed tight coils. The closed tight coil adds sturdiness to the final quilled snowflake. Hence this count may be decided based on the final product. In this instructable, the strip has been quilled into 12 tight coils
4. Roll the 28cms long strips in counts of 6 into marquise and crescent shapes
Gluing the Shapes Together

Join the eccentric coils together by gluing at the sides of the coil. Snowflakes can be an ornament to the Christmas tree. Bring out your creative best :-)
Gluing tips:
- Fingers should be clean when gluing the white coils together to avoid visible stains
- Glue the pieces together by placing them on a plastic sheet or glass to aid in removing the artefact easily once the glue dries out
We Are Almost There

The tight coils hold the shapes in place and provide sturdiness to the artefact while hanging
1. Roll the 28cms long strip over a smooth pen to create a hollow closed coil
2. Glue the closed coil to the snowflake
Adding the Embellishments

Decorate the snowflake with the half pearls and crystals as desired
Adding the Glitter Effect

Apply the Mod Podge sparkler glue to the sides of the snowflake for waterproofing and glitter effect
Yay! You Built a Snowflake

Tie a ribbon or a woollen thread to the quilled snowflake and hang it on your Christmas tree
