this is how you create a diy home entertainment system running kodi

Supplies

raspberry pi 4

1TB USB storage

case

computer for flashing the sd card

Ready the Case

For this project, I will use an old video player case that had its internals repurposed. I will be using this as it has pre-drilled mounting holes and HDMI output holes. For those of you interested the model No. is RDR-GX210

Ready the Software

For the software, I will use Kodi os running on a raspberry pi 4 however other good home entertainment software includes steamos, openelec, or geekbox. To get the os onto the sd card I use etcher which is just some flash software but what you use here doesn't matter. You will also need a USB with some substantial storage for all of your games and media steamos needs a minimum of 1TB . Once you have located your USB add the files you want onto it these can be music, video and photo files or for retro gaming, you can upload some ROMs

Setting Up the Hardware

Once you have set up the raspberry pi with your desired os you will now need to start assembly. For cooling, I will use the original fan as this was all that was needed. Next, I fitted the speakers and mounted the raspberry pi so that the wires would enter through the original holes. once the pi is in place all you need to do is plug it in and set up a controller you should see all of your files once you plug in the USB
