A compass have played a grate role in the old days so that is why I am going to show you how to make one of the first compasses
Supplies
- Bowl
- Water
- Magnet
- Needle
- Sellotape
- Cork
Magnifying the Needle

- Using the magnet rube the one side of the magnet on the point of the needle for 1 min
- Then press the needle through the cork

- Fill the bowl with water
- let the cork with the needle float (do not let the needle touch the side)
one side of the needle should point north and the other south
