Diy Christmas Sign From Scraps

IMG_0488.jpeg

This year i’m making some diy things to complement the Christmas decorations in the garden.

This sign is one of those.

I used only things I had lying around the house.

Supplies

What you need:

  1. An old placemat
  2. A piece of pvc pipe
  3. White spray paint
  4. Red tape or adhesive foil
  5. Vinyl leftovers
  6. Christmas bauble

Tools I used:

  1. Sandpaper
  2. Acetone
  3. Glue
  4. Cutting machine
  5. Scissors

Prepare the Pvc Pipe

  1. First i cleaned the pvc pipe and the placemat, as they were dirty from previous use.
  2. If your pipe is to long, cut it to the right size with a saw. I cut mine down a little bit. The also created a more straight edge.
  3. Use sandpaper to roughen the surface of the pvc pipe and then go over it with acetone. This helps to get the paint to stick to the pipe.

Finish the Pvc Pipe

  1. Use the white spray paint to paint the pipe.
  2. Once the paint is dry, use the red tape or adhesive foil to create the swirling pattern. You could also use red paint for this.

Make the Signs

  1. Cut the shape of the signs out of the placemat. I made a paper template first. You can use the file "Christmas arrow" if you want to.

Decorate the Signs

  1. Cut the background and text out of the scrap vinyl. I used my cricut maker3 for this. First I uploaded the sign template in design space. Then i created the text.
  2. Put the vinyl pieces onto the signs

Finish the Christmas Sign
