Disney Parks Pineapple Dole Whip
In this Instructable, I will show you how to make the famous Disney Parks Dole Whip recipe. Well as close as you can get to it at home. Are you a fan of all things Disney and the food they serve at their parks? This homemade Disneyland pineapple dole whip recipe was released to the public by Disney along with a few other recipes while the parks were closed.
But according to my friend who is a pastry chef that works for Disney, in her words, "Unfortunately, that is not the actual recipe, but it is the closest thing you’ll get to it making it at home. They basically get a dole whip mix powder and add that to the ice cream."
This classic pineapple treat is like a mix between a smoothie and soft-serve ice cream, it is super easy to make at home with only 3 ingredients. If I can do it, you can do it. Time to bring a bit of that Disney magic to your own home. Let's get started!
Don't forget to follow me and check out my other Instructables. :)
Follow the easy steps below or watch the short video tutorial or do both! :)
Ingredients
You may print the recipe here if you like.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of frozen pineapple (16oz, 454g)
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice (use more as necessary for desired consistency) (120ml)
- 1 heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream
Tools:
- Blender (Strong one)
- Spoon
- Piping bag or plastic bag with a star tip
***Classic Dole whip is dairy-free, Dole has their own version that you can use as well if you like, but it isn't the one Disney Parks have either and not the one Disney released for what should be really called "Their at-home version", haha:
- 1 cup ripe DOLE® pineapple, chopped and frozen
- 1 ripe DOLE® Banana, peeled and frozen
- 2-1/2 teaspoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut mil
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
Blend Blend Blend
Begin by adding the frozen pineapple chunks, pineapple juice, and vanilla ice cream in a powerful blender. Then blend until smooth. You may need to add a few more tablespoons of pineapple juice. I usually start with the ice crush mode and go from there.
After a few seconds if the blending stops and it doesn't seem like anything is getting blended. Shut the blender off and remove the lid, then use a spoon or move things around. Put the top on again and blend, etc. You may have to do this a few times depending on the blender you use.
Note: You can use fresh pineapple that you cut and freeze yourself, or just buy the 16 oz bags of frozen dole pineapple chunks, which is what I usually do since that is the perfect amount.
Pipe and Serve
Now all you need to do is add the smooth mixture to a piping bag with a star tip and then fill up the bowls you want to serve it in.
You can use a plastic bag with a tip as well if you don't want to use a piping bag. Also, you don't even need to do that, you can just scoop it as-is into the bowls. It will still taste the same!
Make sure to serve it right away before it melts and loses its consistency, but if so it will just wind up being like a smoothie, haha, and still taste amazing.
And that is how you bring a little Disney food magic to your home. I told you it was easy. :)
