Diamond/herringbone (hide the Ends)
Here is one way that I use to hide the ends of the cords I used. The tutorial shown four cords but that should not limit you.
To start make a crown knot. do not pull it tight. I usually tie this in hand but I need two hands to operate my camera
Take any cord and bring it over one cord, under the next and back out of the way.
Bring the next cord over one, under one and back out of the way
Bring the third cord over one and under ant up through the bight of the first cord
Bring the final cord over the bight of the first cord and under and up through the bight of the second cord
Tighten this diamond shape
Take any cord and bring it to the left of the adjacent cord over one and under the bight as shnown
repeat for the next cord
Same for the third .......
.....and the fourth
Take any cord and bring it over two and under two (crossing point)
Repeat with the next cord
and the third
Ditto. This gives you a herringbone pattern
Tug each end a little to the left and bring it up through the crown knot going under the strand in front of it. Starting with any strand of the final crown knot that you made tighten the knot. As in any tightening DO NOT try to do it in one go. Tighten slowly in several; stages and the results will be more pleasing.
