Device Securer for DoDoCase Build Night

I've been really impressed with the Smartphone Virtual Reality Viewer from DoDoCase VR. We've had a great time showing it off to our members here at the library. But, I'm typically using my phone to show people, and once or twice the phone has slipped out the side of the viewer when someone is turning it sideways to exit an app. So, I put a quick Device Securer using some supplies we had around the library.

Once its assembled, grab the following:

Duct Tape

Scissors

Ruler

Self-Adhesive Velcro

A smartphone or device

Cut a length of Duct Tape that is 2 inches long

Cut a length of Duct Tape that is 1 3/4 inches long

Stick the 1 3/4 inch long strip sticky side down onto the 2 inch long strip that is sticky side up

Cut this section of Duct Tape in half, so you have two strips ready to go.

Cut small squares of self-adhesive Velcro, 2 of each side

Stick the sides of Velcro together

Remove the lining so the adhesive is exposed

Stick one side of the Velcro onto the non-sticky side of the duct tape (the sticky side of the Duct Tape should be facing upward).

Stick the sticky part of the Duct Tape to the front flap of the VR Viewer

Fold the VR Viewer into its closed position and bend the Duct Tape strap so it touches the side of the VR Viewer

Your Velcro adhesive (that you removed in the previous step) will stick to the side of the VR Viewer

Repeat this process on the other side of the VR Viewer.

Insert your device into the front flap of the VR Viewer

Fold up the VR Viewer and then stick the Velcro on the Duct Tape straps to the Velcro on the side of the VR Viewer

Your device won't slip out of the VR Viewer any longer.
