Add a Mic to Any Headphone - Simple
So i wanted to try attaching the microphone to this headphone.
STEP 1 -> You'll Need
> And Old Headphone with microphone / microphone
> A pair of Scissors
> A Pair of Nose Pliers
> Electrical Insulation tape (Or any other strong tape works fine)
> Any old toy, plastic box... anything from and old tic-tac box to an used cigarette lighter -> OBJECT
> Screw Driver (depends on what you chose as your OBJECT
> Super Glue (Glue Gun Works Better. Didn't have one at hand though)
> Current Headphones that you need to attach the microphone to
> A Candle
STEP 2 -> Strip the Crap Headphones
> Unscrew the case (or rip them apart)
> take out the microphone part carefully and cut off extra/unwanted wires
> Be careful not to cut the 3.5 mm jack at the end of the wire.
> OPTIONAL: Preserve cut wires for another project
STEP 3 -> Extraction and Hacking
> Secure the speaker-wire connections with the tape
> Remove any screws (if any) and isolate the required part of the OBJECT
> Clean if necessary
STEP 4 -> Light the Candle
> Cut a small piece of the metal wire
> Using the plier, show it in the flame to heat it up
> Make a hold on the plastic to insert wires.
> Drag the hole onto the end to slide in the wires.
> Make another hole elsewhere on the object to make an attachment (Explained in later steps)
STEP 5 -> Grab Your Perfect Headphones for a Minute
> Cut two Pieces of the Metal Wire, One long and One short (View Pic for approx size)
> Make Two Bends with the approximate thickness of your headphone as the distance between em
> Insert the Bent wire onto the headphone (whichever side you may please, I was bored of right sided mics and made mine on the left side)
> Make the fit snugly by making designs/twisting it from the ends of the wire.
> Chop extra wire and sand it (optional, else bend them in such a way they dun't poke)
> Make a small hook at the end of the twisted wire to attach the Microphone part.
STEP 6 -> Keep Goin, You Are Almost Done Here!
> Make a small knot on the wire to secure it
> Slide the wires onto to the already made hole. The knot should touch the plastic body of the OBJECT so as to make it fit tight
> Bring the 3.5mm jack connector wire out through the same hole
> Use glue to close the case (i couldn't use the screw anymore as the microphone fit perfectly on that already existing hold)
> Insert the smaller metal wire piece on the other hole
> Make a Small Ring-like structure with it.
STEP 7 -> And... You're DONE!
> When not in use, jus remove the microphone!
I was also able to attach the head-phone's cord temporarily(while using) to the microphone so that it doesn't keep moving.
Enjoy Using them! Feel free to lemme knw if yu made these/have any doubts/have your version!
