Desktop Accessory Organizer

Coming up with ideas to solve problems you don't have could be a challenge. The next best thing was to design something I would want in the realm of organization. I have a bunch of pens, pencils, markers, and anything you could want when drawing. I wanted something that I could use when organize my writing tools in a neat and fashionable manner. Here, I created a Japanese influenced desktop accessory holder.
Inspirations

While I was 3D modeling this accessory holder, I was finding it easier for me to add some Japanese elements to it. I decided to add a Japanese themed roof to my accessory holder.
Sketches

I sketched out the basic ideas of what I wanted in my desktop organizer. This gave me a good idea of what I'm looking for when I'm modeling my product.
3D Modeling Process

Here are some of the modeling step I took when 3D modeling my product.
Step 1: I started with a hexagon shape to make a base
Step 2: I used the hexagon shape as reference when building the rest of the layers
Step 3: During step 2 I thought it would cool to add a dust cover in the shape of a roof. So I did but in a Japanese styled roof.
Step 4: After everything had been blocked out, I added details with Fillets, Chamfers, and the slots so anybody could put it together easily.
Step 5: I imported a variety of office supplies from GrabCAD to give a perspective on how the product would be used. This step would of taken me a couple hours If I modeled every to size and correct shape.
Overview and Assembly

Here is an overview on how the product is put together and the features it holds. Easy to assemble.
Renders and Color Selection

Here are the final renders of the product and a variety of different color themes you can choose from.
