Delicious Pumpkin Pie-Cake-type-thing!

IMG_7904.jpg
I went over to my bubbee's (grandma) today to cook up some yummy stuff with her.

We decided to put a spin on the classic pumpkin pie, and bake a pumpkin pie-cake-type-thing instead!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 table spoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup oats
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 30oz pumpkin pie mix-in-a-can
  • Graham Crackers
  • vegetable oil
  • Apple Juice

Materials:

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 smaller bowl
  • 1 baking tin
  • An oven pre-heated to 400 degreed Fahrenheit

Mix the Dry Ingredients

Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, cinnamon, and oats in the large bowl.

Mix the Wet Ingredients

Combine the pumpkin pie mix and eggs in the smaller bowl.

Try not to eat the pumpkin pie mix yet.... I know it's really hard to resist doing so, but attempt to hold back.

Mix Everything Together!

Take the wet mix and slowly stir it into the dry mix.

You're going to get to a point where no more dry mix will join with the wet mix. In this case, add apple juice in small amounts until you have a cookie-dough-like consistency.

Prepare the Tin!

Lightly oil the bottom of the tin/pan/cooking vessel.

Then, arrange graham crackers so that they line the bottom of the pan/tin/vessel. If you run into corners, just crush or chop up the graham crackers until they fit.

This is crucial to your survival, kind of like knowing anything that Velociraptors fear....

Anyhow, slowly try to pour the batter over the crackers. This will be difficult, because the batter is now super-sticky, and will move your crackers a lot.

Wait a couple of minutes for the batter to flatten out.

It's Oven Time!

Put your finished Pumpkin cake-thing into the oven, which should now be 400 degrees Fahrenheit by now for 15-25 minutes, depending on how much apple juice you put in.

After 15 minutes, check every 5 minutes with a fork to see when the cake-thing is done. If the fork comes out with batter, then it's not done yet. If it does come out clean, then it's done!

Eat!

Start to eat your pie-cake-pastry all by yourself, otherwise other people will get to enjoy its amazing goodness. But let your grandma have some, 'cause she worked hard while you took pictures.

It could use some whipped cream, but it's not necessary.

ENJOY!
