Where to Start

Start by preparing all your tools and ingredients. Gather everything to be close to you so that the process is easier later.

If you have raw ingredients like bacon or mushrooms, start by cooking these first.

Now thoroughly butter your pan to prevent the omelette from sticking to it. (Even if you are using a non-stick pan, it just makes life easier)

Building the Body

Start by breaking your eggs into a mixing bowel. If you are using a large pan, i suggest using about 3 eggs. If the omelette becomes to thin and spread out, it breaks very easily. If you want to use fewer eggs, rather use a smaller pan.

Add salt, pepper and whatever spice you would like to use. Add baking powder to help the omelette appear more fluffy.

Add some milk, not too much, just to make the mixture a bit less viscous. Now mix it all together until it has a uniform colour and pour it into the well buttered pan.

Now just leave the mixture to cook at a medium heat. You want to base to be nearly cooked before moving it or adding the toppings. If the base is starting to look solid, you can start loosening it from the pan.

Adding the Toppings

Wait until only the top layer of the base is still raw and then add the toppings. Just spread it all out nicely, and if you are like me: Be generous with the toppings!

Just beware of overfilling if you don't want the toppings to fall out when serving.

Be sure to just place the toppings on one half, when you are done you can carefully flip the other half onto the toppings.

Serve and Eat!

The omelette is now ready to be served!

I placed the avocado slices on the side instead of inside the omelette, because I don't like it when avo is hot.
