Making the Patties!
Firstly letโs talk about the soya you decide to use. There are SO many options available!
I recommend buying dried soya mince that has some โgravyโ (a โcheaperโ one I bought had TOO much gravy though, so in this case I actually sifted some off before cooking it). They were so deliciously moist!
Recently I saw dry mince that only needs soaking, but has no gravy. Remember you might need less bread crumbs :)
Donโt stress if you use frozen Soya mince either, just remember it will use less bread crumbs :)
Mix the soya mince and egg/flax egg (*Flax Egg are simply 1 Tbsp Flaxseed Powder mixed with 3 Tbsp water. Let it stand for 10 minutes to thicken up ๐). Gauge whether the mixture needs bread crumbs (if you're using the soya mince without gravy it might be fine as is), it should be a "drier" consistency so that you can form patties that hold their shape :)
"Cook" your vegetarian patties in a frying pan over low heat. I love using coconut oil for shallow frying as it gives the patties a delicious, crunchy outside ๐คค
Slice and Dice Your Toppings!
While you are slowly frying your patties, slice your veggies! Use whatever your heart desires on top of your burger! This step is up to you! ๐
Assemble Your Masterpiece!
Cut your bun, slap on the mayo, and construct your burger! Now, the real question is, does the cheese go under or on top of the patty? I did both! Just to be safe ๐
Post a photo below of how your burgers turned out! I'd love to see ๐
