"Deep Sleep Sounds" for Better Sleep or Study
Does your roommate snore?
Is your dorm room too noisy?
Are you a parent or caregiver that needs to calm a baby?
Do street noises bother you?
Is your bedroom too quiet?
If you have trouble sleeping, relaxing or focusing, this instructable is for you.
This instructable will help you convert an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Android device into a sound machine.
Download Deep Sleep Sounds
First, get the Deep Sleep Sounds app, free from the iOS App Store.
If you have an android device search the Google Play store for "White Noise" or "Sleep Sounds" and choose a comparable app.
Hook Up an External Speaker (optional)
Depending on your phone or tablet the volume may not be loud enough. If the volume is too soft, attach an external speaker to your device.
I used the following speaker and charger with my iPod touch.
I also created a simple enclosure with an old diaper wipes tub.
Enjoy
Experiment with the sounds and speaker setup to fit your style.
I find the Fan or Air Filter sounds are best for sleeping.
I sometimes hook up my headphones and use the Birds and Chimes sounds for studying and the Ocean sounds for relaxing.
Someone left a review stating the Brown Noise attached to an external speaker with deep bass was great for masking snoring but I haven't tried it yet.
