I love my balcony and have been enjoying a lot over the past year, but one thing I felt was missing is some outdoor lighting to enjoy it in the evening. So when I got the chance to try out Lightify smart LED outdoor lights, I was thrilled. Turns out they are really easy to install and you can turn them on/off, change their color to anything you want, and even dim them, all remotely using an app on your mobile device.
Secure the Controller and Power Supply

First I attached the power supply and controller to the trellis on my balcony wall. You'll want to plug them into an outdoor outlet with GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) protection.
Install the Lights

The lights come with spikes which are great for installing the lights into the ground, or in my case, in the planters I have on my ledge. You can easily take the spikes off, which I did so I could screw the lights around the edge of my privacy panels. You could also attach them to the bottom of a railing. Options are endless! I covered up the black wire with white duct tape so they wouldn't stand out so much against the white panels.
Turn on the Lights and Play With the Color!

I plugged the Lightify gateway into an outlet, downloaded the Lightify app on my phone and the lights were ready to go. It's so much fun to play around with the lights! It was the perfect finishing touch to my balcony and now I get to enjoy it even more!
I ended up using one 14 ft lighting kit and 2 expansion kits (5 ft each) ~ $170. Here are the links to the products I used:
Lightify Gateway
Lightify Gardenspot lights (14 ft)
Lightify Gardenspot extensions (4.67 ft)
Thanks Lightify for making this project possible!
