Daisy Chain Bracelet

Fun to make and design using only colored glue sticks. You can freehand your design or print something from online. You can complete the project in less than one hour. Kids love the results! Once you've had some practice, you can let your imagination go wild, doing names and more intricate designs.

You will need the following supplies: colored glue sticks (which can be purchased from craft stores or online from Amazon); glue gun; wax paper; cooking spray; scissors; measuring tape; permanent marker; and small piece of cardboard (cereal box works well).

With hand flat, measure around the fattest part of the hand. Now, determine how wide you want your bracelet. In this step we will be using a one-inch wide measurement with a nine-inch long measurement from her hand.

To make a pattern for your bracelet, use the cardboard from a cereal box and cut it into a rectangle of the predetermined size (we are using nine inches by one inch).

Cut out cardboard and set aside.

Place a sheet of wax paper on your surface (whether using counter, table or cutting board). Place pattern atop wax paper and with permanent marker trace around the outside of the pattern.

Draw the pattern you desire inside your rectangular box using your permanent marker. You can freehand this or place a printed pattern beneath the wax paper to trace.

To ensure your project does not adhere to the surface, gently apply a thin layer of cooking spray to the work surface. Any aerosol will work. Using your finger, spread the oil into a thin layer that just lightly coats the wax paper.

For this project I like to outline my design with the black glue and, after that has hardened, I go back in and add my colors. The next step was to add the yellow dot, in the center, followed by the surrounding white dots. To make the project easier, you can use multiple glue guns with separate colors in each rather than waiting to push through the glue colors individually.

When glue had hardened (which takes roughly one minute), gently pull it up from the wax paper.

To finish your bracelet, hold both sides together and add glue to the interior, holding for thirty seconds or until hardened. Additional glue can be added for strength on the interior of the bracelet.
