The DZ-37 Prototype Droid

Affectionately nicknamed "Dizzy" for its perpetual whirring and off-kilter gait, the DZ-37 is a pint-sized Imperial marvel of advanced engineering. Its nimble design makes it adept at squeezing into tight spaces and navigating treacherous terrain, a perfect companion for the harsh realities of mining, surveying, and construction.

However, the DZ-37 embodies both Imperial ingenuity and greed. Beneath its unassuming exterior lies a precious and controversial secret: Mandalorian beskar, melted down and reforged into unbreakable drilling tips. Harvested from the ravaged planet Mandalore, this rare alloy makes the DZ-37's legendary resilience a highly sought-after quality. The promise of expedited construction projects across the vast Empire is a lucrative prospect.

This innovation, born from Imperial plunder, has become a double-edged sword. The very droids intended to accelerate Imperial construction have become a black market prize due to their scarcity and the exotic material that keeps them spinning. The criminal underworld covets these droids. Unparalleled in their ability to bypass vault doors and breaching restricted facilities. Rebels see them as a weapon to turn against the Empire. Even Mandalorian purists hunt down any rumors of these droids, viewing them as a means to reclaim their stolen heritage.

The original prototype group released before the full launch has seen large numbers disappear at a much larger scale than anticipated. Manufacturing these droids has been deemed "unsustainable" due to the scarcity of beskar and the high risk of loss. The remaining DZ-37s will soon be recalled, the project shuttered, funds and beskar reserves shipped back to Imperial science facilities on Mandalore.
