DYI Hanging Phone Case
Phone case (when charging)
DIY tutorial
Materials:
- Shampoo/Conditioner plastic bottle
- Cutting mat
- Scissors + craft knife
- Permanent marker
Let’s start with preparing an empty hair conditioner/shampoo container or even an empty water bottle (at least 1 litre). The size of the package depends on how big your phone is. Make sure it is well rinsed and dried.
Then, we need to remove any labels.
When the container or bottle is free of labelling, we will mark the shape of our phone case. At this point, it is important to check the height of the phone so that the holder will be neither too shallow nor too deep. Once you do it, look at the photo below and start marking the suggested shape using a permanent marker.
Finally, we can start cutting out our case. To do so, hold the container firmly, place the screw eye hook in the middle of the container, exactly in the centre of the marked line and push the screw in. Rotate the screw several times to widen the hole. Insert the craft knife in the hole we just made and start cutting along the line.
You can amend the shape of your case using a permanent marker and straighten the edges with scissors if necessary.
Our phone case is almost ready, now let’s cut out a hole at the top so that we can hang it on the charger while connected to the socket. As we did before, check the size of the charger, mark the shape with a marker (leave at least 1-centimetre distance from the edge) use the screw to make a hole and then cut it out with a craft knife.
The phone case is now ready! You can decorate it using a spray but if you don’t have one, decorate it with duct tape, marker or a piece of fabric! Be creative and have fun!
Quick tip if you are going to use a spray. Do it outside, place a piece of cardboard under the phone case, check the direction of the wind and patiently let one side dry for at least four hours after spraying, then spray the other side.
