Hello! This is my first ever instructable and I am very excited to share this with you! I’ll be teaching you how to make this DNA Origami. It’s really easy so anyone can make it! Let’s get started!

Supplies

Rectangular paper (any color)

Fold Your Paper

Fold your paper in half. You can use any size of paper, but it has to be rectangular. I glued two pieces of paper together so I can have a bigger origami.

Fold the Bottom and Top Edges

Fold the bottom and top edges about 1cm or 1/2 inch. Make sure to make the creases sharp.

Fold Into Sixteen Parts

First, flatten the fold you made in the previous step. Then, fold the paper into halves, fourths, eighths, and sixteenths. You can look at the pictures if you have a difficult time understanding.

Fold Diagonally

Fold the rectangles that you made diagonally. If it starts to curl up don’t worry. That just means that you are closer to finishing the project! This step might seem confusing, so you can use the pictures for help.

Now you want to refold the edges, but you will fold them in different directions. The one that is on the crease will go up and the other one will go down. The pictures help explain it better.

Start Turning the Paper

You want to fold each of the rectangles like this. Since the rectangle is divided into triangles, the triangle that is on the top will look like this. Keep doing this to the rest of the paper. As you are doing this, the paper will slowly turn into a circle. It will look like the picture above when you are done folding.

Pull on the Circle

Now pull the circle slowly. It will turn into a spiral. This is a left-handed helix.
