DIY a Beautiful Oil Night Lamp From Waste Material

How to make Oil Lamp from Mason Jar | DIY | Gundu Bulbu

On this tutorial I'm going to help you to DIY an awesome oil Lamp which can illuminate for hours and highly portable. For this you need the following

Supplies

  1. Small Mason Jar with metal lid
  2. Pure Cotton Rope
  3. Cooking Oil (Any)
  4. Some tools to cut the rope and drill the Lid

Preparing the Lid

Take the metal lid and drill the hole at the top of it my any means possible. The hole must be smaller than the thread you had chosen. Drilling the hole at the centre of the lid would be nice. Now, put the piece of cotton rope through the drilled hole carefully as seen in the images.

Fueling the Lamp

As you see, Here i use cooking oil as the fuel for this lamp. Any cooking oil work fine and i strongly suggest not to use highly flammable substance such as kerosene, petrol or diesel. Now soak the rope with cooking oil as seen in the figures i attached here. Then Fill the bottle with same cooking oil and close it with the lid you prepared.

Important Note: Before closing the lid you must soak the rope with cooking oil.

Have Fun

That's all for today.

This lamp can be ignited at any condition that makes it awesome for camping. Just keep the thread soaked in oil and use a match stick or lighter to fire it up.
