What you'll need:

  • Long sleeve shirt (make sure it is pretty long so you have enough material to wrap & tie later on)
  • Fabric scissors http://amzn.to/2lpapZM

Cut a vertical line down the center of the front of the shirt, creating two even flaps.

Cut Back Panel Shorter

Open the front panels to get them out of the way and cut the bottom of the back part of the shirt to make it shorter. I cut around 7 inches from the bottom, but it is completely up to you!

Cut 4 Strips From Extra Material

Using the extra piece of material you just cut from the back of the shirt, cut 4 long and slim strips, then stretch them out to hide the cut edges. Next, tie the ends of 2 of the strips together to create a longer one. Do the same with the remaining 2 strips. These will be the 2 long strappy pieces that are wrapped and tied when you put the shirt on later!

Attach Strips to Shirt

Cut a small hole on the bottom center of each of the shirt's long front pieces. Then, tie to ends of the long strips to these holes. These are now the straps that will be wrapped around your body and tied!

All Done!

Now you can put the shirt on with your favorite jeans, shorts, skirt, etc.! Just slip the sleeves on and cross the front panels, wrapping the ends until you get your desired "criss-cross" look, then tie it. I tied mine at the side, but the front or back also look great! Then just tuck the top of the front panels at the chest inward to smooth everything out. That's it! :)

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and please let me know if you try it out!
