DIY Wine Bottle Vase

For all of those wine drinkers out there who want to put the bottle to use when you are finished with it, I have just the thing for you. This DIY is a great way to turn an empty or old wine bottle into a flower vase or home decor.

Things you will need:

1. Empty wine bottle.

2. Glass cutter from a hardware store.

3. 3D printed wine bottle cutter.

4. Acetone

5. Candle

6. Ice

7. Sand paper

8. Sisal rope

9. Hot glue gun

10. Masking tape

11. Spray paint (I used gold)

Remove the labels from the wine bottle. Then take the acteone and put it on a cloth and clean off the glue from the bottle. Now 3D print the wine bottle cutter and put the glass cutter into the insert.

Once you have inserted the glass cutter into the wine bottle cutter, slide it over the neck of the wine bottle. It may take a little work to cut all the way through the glass, just keep spinning the wine bottle cutter.

Applied too much pressure while spinning the cutter. Be careful!!!

Start from the beginning and make sure to alternate the temperatures. Use the candle to heat the cut you started, then use ice to cool it off. After you have cut the neck of the bottle off, take some sand paper and sand the cut edge, this way it will take away the sharp cut edge and you won't have to worry about cutting yourself.

Use sisal rope and a hot glue gun to attach the rope to decorate the top of the vase. After that, use masking tape to make a unique design, then spray paint the bottle and let it dry.

After it is dry take the tape off.

Now that you have finished cutting the bottle and have sanded out the sharp edge, fill it with some water and add your flowers. Or in my case I went to my backyard and collected some dry plants and branches.
