Lip scrubs work as a gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin cells and leave you with smoother, softer lips. This sugar-based formula replenishes moisture with Vitamin E and Jojoba oil.
Supplies
- Measuring spoons
- Measuring cup
- Glass heat safe bowl
- Skillet
- Spatula
- Empty 4 oz container
Gather Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp White beeswax pellets
- 1 Tbsp Raw unrefined shea butter
- 1 Tbsp Grapeseed oil
- 1 Tbsp Almond oil
- ½ cup White sugar
- 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
- 1 tsp Jojoba oil
- 10 drops Vanilla extract
Melt Wax
To melt the wax and oils, place a heat safe glass bowl in skillet. Fill skillet with enough water to cover the bottom of the bowl. Add melting ingredients to bowl. Over medium low heat, warm until wax is melted, and oils are blended, approximately 10 to 15 minutes.
Add melting ingredients:
- 1 Tbsp Almond oil
- 1 Tbsp Grapeseed oil
- 1 Tbsp Raw unrefined shea butter
- 1 Tbsp White beeswax pellets
Make Sugar Mixture
While waiting for the wax mixture to melt, prepare the sugar mixture. In a separate bowl, add sugar, vanilla extract, vitamin E oil, and Jojoba oil. Mix until there are no clumps of sugar.
- ½ cup White sugar
- 1 tsp Vitamin E oil
- 1 tsp Jojoba oil
- 10 drops Vanilla extract
Cool Melted Wax
- Remove heat-safe glass bowl from heat once all wax has melted
- Let cool for about 5 minutes
Make sure to keep an eye on melting ingredients. If it cools for too long it will get a waxy film on top. If this happens, mix it as soon as possible.
Combine All Ingredients
- Pour melted ingredients into sugar mixture
- Mix well until all ingredients are combined
The Finished Product
- Once mixture is combined, add finished product to 4 oz empty container
- Allow lip scrub 24 hours to harden
- Enjoy!
