DIY Touch-less Doorbell

We are all having a very tough time keeping ourselves and our belongings sanitized on a regular basis due to the covid-19 pandemic. A number of people visit our homes, so sanitizing ourselves is a must. But, why sanitize all starting from the doorbell and to what not? So irritating right?

We have something for you. With this idea of the touchless doorbell take a break from sanitizing your doorbell repeatedly and also stay safe and happy!

Supplies Required:

  1. Dreamkit
  2. Glue gun
  3. Cardboard sheet
  4. Double-side tape
  5. Chart paper
  6. Markers
  7. Pair of scissor
  8. Gum tape

How It Works

The distance sensor module emits a beam of ultrasonic waves which the human eye cannot see. When this emitted beam hits any object, it gets reflected onto a small sensor in the module, thus measuring the distance.

Buzzer is a simple output module. All that it does is make noise when an input signal is given to it. Connect the distance sensor and the buzzer module. The buzzer module beeps whenever the distance is less. So, on waving your hand in front of the distance sensor the buzzer starts beeping.

Programming Dream Kit With DK Studio

Connect the HUB to your computer using a USB cable. Open DK studio software in your computer choosing the correct port number and click on ‘Connect’. Place the blocks as shown above and click on ‘Upload’.

Build Your Model

  1. First, we’ll cut a cardboard and chart paper piece of 12*12 cm.

Use Glue to Stick the Chart Paper to Cardboard

Place and Connect the Hub, Modules As Shown Below

Connect the Modules to the Hub and Power It.

Upload the Program to the Hub and Power It

Anymore there’s no need to press any button for the doorbell. Just hold your hand in front of the distance sensor and the buzzer starts beeping.
