DIY Switch Adapted Bubble Tube

This project is designed to adapt a bubble tube so that it has switch access.

Supplies

Remove Screws

Remove screws from the bottom of the toy.

Remove Bottom

Remove bottom of toy.


OPTIONAL: Adding batteries to the toy before starting to allow for easy testing throughout the adaption process.

Cut Cable

Cut the end of the cable. (We will be using the female end for this adaption).

Strip Cable

Strip the cable so that the wires from both the red and white cables are showing.

Solder

Add solder to the ends of both red and white cables.

Add Hole

Melt or drill hole into the side of the toy.

Thread Cable

Thread cable through the hole in the toy. Either tie or zip tie the cable inside the toy so that the cable cannot be pulled out.

Solder

Solder one cable to each of the areas marked in the photos. (The prongs off the on/off switch)

Reassemble

Reassemble toy.
