DIY Striped Candlesticks and Spray Painted Holders

Spruce up an old set of candlesticks with spray paint and create striped candlesticks to match.

What You'll Need

  • An assortment of candlestick holders (Can match or be from different sets)
  • Latex paint (We used Valspar brand in satin)
  • Painter’s tape
  • Candlesticks
  • Preval Sprayer (http://www.lowes.com)
  • Jar or bucket

Prepare the Preval Sprayer

Preval's Maker Minute: Spray Painted Candlesticks

Add 1 oz. of paint to the jar and 1.5 oz. of water. Cap, shake and attach the spray can.

Now you're ready to spray.

Spray Paint the Candlestick Holders

Do a test spray before sweeping the paint evenly across the candlestick holders. For best results, allow the paint to dry between coats.

DIY Striped Candlesticks

While you wait fort the candlestick holders to dry, wrap painter’s tape horizontally across the candlesticks. Spray and prop them in a jar or bucket to dry.
