Hello friends in this instructables i will show you how to make this functional spiderman web slinger that will sling thread web and also the light is activated when the web comes out!
This is a 3d printed real working spiderman web shooter that will give out thread web and is powered by elastic bands.
It is one of the project that the Spidey fan should have on their bucket list, This suits best for almost all
In this instructables i will show each and every step that you need to build this project, this project was inspired by looking at the actual spiderman web shooter.
I would like to say if you are looking for a great cosplay idea this would be the best option.
It has LED light that activated automatically when you are activating this slinger.
Like as always don't forget to check the working video that is given at the end of this project, with all these being said let us directly hop into the build phase of this project.
Supplies

3D Design and Printing

The entire frame was made using Tinkercad for this project, It took me quite a while for designing and coming up with design.
I had to take care of may factors here, the first was the size and also the looks but mainly the performance.
This design fits almost any size type of hand and the performance is just simply amazing.
You can just download the STL files that i have given in this step, Export to cura slicer and then export the model to your printer.
For the settings you can refer the images that i gave given here in these steps and just make sure you don not select rafts and supports at the time of printing.
There are total of 3 parts and all of them wont take much longer to get it printed.
After the printing is complete we can color them if you want to customize the model as per your needs.
Post Processing

Post processing in this project is not about removing the extra webbings or the rafts here it is the enhancements!
I used yellow color PLA filament to print the model, I had no red color PLA filament hence i printed the part with yellow PLA filament and then painted them with red fabric paint.
Anyways in the end i got good results, allow the paint to dry completely first and then you can add the extra things here.
The other part is the web slinger part that looks like a stick and to the end of this we are supposed to add a think piece of foam and the other side comes in the shape of a reverse hook to hold the elastic band.
We have a good spider that will give the actual meaning for this spider web slinger.
Lastly we have this battery holder to the inside of which i will be adding a battery.
That is all about the 3d printed things that we are using in this project.
Electronics

Connections are in series and it is very easy to make also, all you have to do is connect all the + of the LED to one end and also all the - of the LED to one side.
Either the + or the - side can be connected to the battery side and the switch comes in between to turn the LED ON and OFF whenever needed.
I used empty PCB to connect the LED in series, Solder the LED pins and and trim off the excess wires.
After the soldering is complete, test the LED for working.
I then later sanded the extra sides to make the led part fit on the web slinger main frame.
The battery holder is filled with battery and the top part on this battery is glued with a piece of neodymium magnet.
To make the LED work, I added the copper wires of the battery to the sides of this battery holder.
LED pins are organized in such a way that when you touch the battery holder pins that you just made will light up the LED.
Now you can glue just the bottom mid base of the battery holder to the body frame, This will act as a switch.
When you press on the battery holder now the LED will glow, this part now when pressed will light up the LED.
You can also replace this open circuit with a simple PCB, Complete your electronic projects in the best way from PCBWay

Finishing

For the finishing you can add the spider logo, Just place the spider on the top of the frame and add a drop of superglue.
The strap i got from my old bicycle helmet, Just cut as per the requirements and to the slots provided connect it and secure with glue if needed.
In my case i didn't use any glue to secure the strap well, The other part had the belt to tighten the web slinger.
Tie it to your hand and check if that is fitting you well, if yes well and good in case if it is not then you need to make some adjustments.
Coming for the recharging the battery easily you can remove the battery and charge with TP4056 charging module.
How to Use With Video

Using this is not a big thing, All you have to do is wear this slinger on the hand and secure the band using the adjustable strap.
To make it safe for using i added a piece of foam to the tip part of the slinger part.
Just cut a piece of foam and add a drop of superglue to the top part and press the foam here and allow to dry completely.
The slinger part gets lost easily and to avoid this i added a piece of thread, This also makes the slinger looks like the web.
Wear it to your hand and adjust the fit accordingly, When you wear it make sure the light activating switch barely touches the hand.
Insert the slinger and press it back until you have the sufficient power to launch the slinger, At half way you can see the light from the LED glowing.
Try with different color threads and different type to create cool effects at the time of thread slinging.
After the slinger comes out, Find it where you launched and again you can reuse the slinger over and over.
This is all about the project, If you have any questions ask in the comments also consider watching this video that shows the working and also the build of this project.
