What we are going to do today is how to make a solar mobile charger or solar battery charger(18650 Battery)

COMPONENTS REQUIRED

  • PCB
  • AMS1117 (5v)
  • TP4056
  • Battery
  • Solar 12v
  • 1000uF 25V Capacitor
  • 1k Resistor- 5 Nos
  • 22uF Capacitor
  • 10uF/16V Capacitor - 2 Nos
  • LED-5MM - 4 Nos
  • USB-A-2
  • 1N5817 - 2 Nos
  • 2.7k Resistor
  • 100uF,25v Capacitor
  • 2 Pin Screw Connectors - 3 Nos
  • Header-Female-( 2.54)1x2

Therefore, case you want your own PCB, you can obtain through this link on PCBWay.com. You can also order good quality PCBS from PCBWay.com at low cost. In addition to the standard pcbs, we could also support advanced Pcbs, FPC/rigid -flex Pcbs, rapid-rpototyping and other related services that could meet your needs to the most extent.

PCB order steps on PCBWay:

  • Visit the website: www.PCBWay.com
  • Click PCB Instant QuoteClick
  • quick-order PCB Upload the gerber file by clicking "+Add Gerber File" and wait until the gerber file is finished
  • uploading Set the PCB specifications as you wish, starting from the number of PCBs, the number of layers, thickness, color and others.
  • After that, look at the left, it will display the estimated cost
  • processing time and delivery service selected
  • Click Save to cart

  • A bit of solder paste is applied to each pad.
  • The SMD components (AMS1117 & TP4056) are placed to PCB.
  • Then heat it with a hot air gun. If you want you can set the SMD components using soldering iron

Assembling all components on PCB , We are using 4 led here. One of them is a led solar panel that burns when working, Second is a mobile charging led and the third is a battery charging led.

We are using 3 2 Pin Screw Connectors here. It is for solar input, battery input, 18650 Battery charging.

SET USB a 2.0 CONNECTOR ON PCB

Our PCB work is completed...

SOLAR PANEL

This circuit works on 9 -12v DC. I used a 19.5v solar panel here, so I used the LM2596 DC buck converter to convert 19 volts to 9-12 volts. If you are using a 12V solar panel you do not need a buck converter.

  • The circuit can also be powered by a bike battery instead of a solar panel

CONNECT SOLAR PANEL TO PCB SOLAR INPUT ON THE PCB

After connecting the solar you will see two led burns on the PCB.One is for solar input and the other is for mobile charging led.

CHARGING MOBILE USING SOLAR

  • Connect the mobile phone to the usb port

You can see the mobile is charging perfectly ,....You can charge with solar when there is no electricity..

  • Connect 18650 battery holder on PCB
  • Connect the jumper pin to the 2 pin connector on the PCB, Now you can see the fourth led burning
  • Now set the battery to the holder,You can see that the led turns off when the battery is set to the holder, and when the battery is fully charged, the supply turns off automatically and the led turns off. This is just to let you know that the led charge is full
