Here is a quick and easy project to make stamps from foam with a sticky backing. You can use a regular ink pad for stamping - or you can use some acrylic paint. The stamps can be used on paper or even on fabric.

The first thing you'll want to do is cut out your foam pieces. You can make some cool designs by just cutting out the same shape repeatedly like I did. If you want to write text, you can flip the foam over and write directly onto the white backing. Then cut it out. You'll also need to cutout a piece of cardboard or something to attach the foam stamps to. I had two round plastic things which used to hold medical tape. So, I pulled them apart, traced a thick piece of paper and attached it to them.

You can attach the foam pieces by removing the sticky backing and placing them however you like. Then, either use an ink pad or take a paint brush and apply a layer of paint to the foam. Don't use too much or it will be sloppy - less is better!

You can create all sorts of different effects by using different colors and applying more or less pressure and paint! You can also use these on fabric!!! I just noticed Jessy created a lovely Instructable on using Foam stamps on fabric here.

Have fun with your stamps! This is a great project to do with the kids - really simple!
