Supplies

In this project I used:

  • Scrap papers: I recommend sticking to a certain color palette so that it feels more cohesive than a mix of all colors. I got color inspiration from here
  • White base paper
  • PVAc/white glue
  • Scissors
  • Photo frame

The Precious Project

Actually the scrap paper I used in this project was not from a single paper craft project, but a collection of paper leftover from some paper cut and paper quilling projects I made. You can see some of those paper craft instructable here or here.

Initial Arrangement

Once you have chosen your base, you will start to build your collage. Grab some paper scraps and play around with composition before you glue down your first layer. This will help you picture the final result of the collage paper.

Glue Down and Let It Flow

Not only I maintain the original form of the scrap paper, but also I tear or cut the scrap paper into strips and shapes of my choice. Keep stacking, tearing, and cutting.

When it came to glue down the paper, I only applied a little amount of glue in some spots (corner or center), so that later I can slide a scrap paper under the a certain piece of paper.

If you are working on a flat surface, remember to hold up your piece from time to time, and stand back from it a bit to gain a different perspective.

There are no rules, just enjoy the play time!

Finish

Pop the piece into the frame and display! We left the glass out of the frame but you can use with our without the glass on top.
