Materials Required...
So, the materials required for this build are :
- A pair of pliers
- A fast and powerful motor
- Some bottle caps
- A screw and a sprocket
- Super glue
- A screwdriver
- A hammer
- Some wires
- A soldering machine
- A pair of Scissors
So let's start making this awesome rotary cutter.
Flatten Up the Soda Caps...
First of all we will use the pliers and hammer to flatten up the soda caps....
They should be perfectly straight or else it will affect the performance of this tool...
This step will take time so patiently beat them using a hammer until they are straight...
Fitting the Screw and Sprocket...
Use a nail and a hammer to punch a hole in the center of a soda cap and fix the screw in it using some super glue...
Also fit the sprocket to the shaft of the motor...
Also use scissors and cut some grooves in the cap for more strength...
These components should be perpendicular to the cap and motor respectively...
Wind Up the Screw...
Now just fix the screw in the sprocket...
And attach two wires to the motor...
And here, we have completed it...
Testing...
Now just hook it up to a 12v power adapter and test it...
Ours was able to cut Popsicle sticks, PCB ,cardboard, plastic pens, thin metal sheets and many more things...
