DIY Reversible Plushie (Stuff Toy) With Storage Pocket

This project features an adorable reversible pillow plushie with two charming designs: a corgi and a polar bear. It also features a pocket for storing small everyday items. 

For this project you will need:

• 2 white fluffy socks (for the polar bear)
• 4 screw eye buttons
• 2 screw nose buttons
• 1 small pocket/coin purse
• white and brown/orange cloth (for the corgi)
• white thread
• sewing materials
• stuffing

Trace the stitch pattern, and use the brown/orange cloth (1st pic) for the front of the ears, and the brown/orange cloth (2nd pic) for the back of the ears.

Sew the edges of the ear pieces together, excluding the bottom edge, using a back stitch 1/8" from the edge. Then, flip the ears right side out (3rd pic). Add some stuffing inside (4th pic).

For the arms, sew a piece of brown cloth (11" x 4") to a piece of white cloth (11" x 2") using a back stitch. Then, trace and cut out the stitch pattern (1st pic). Sew the front and back pieces together using a back stitch 1/8" from the edge, fill with stuffing, and turn them right side out. The finished arms should look like the ones in the second picture.

For the legs, trace and cut out the stitch pattern on white cloth (3rd pic). Each leg should be 2 inches long. Sew the pieces together, turn them right side out, and fill with stuffing (4th pic).

Trace and cut out the stitch pattern from the brown cloth (1st pic) and from the white cloth (2nd & 3rd pic).

Sew the front pieces together (5th pic), then sew the back pieces together (6th pic) using a back stitch. Make sure to leave a 1/4" seam allowance.

Finally, sew the front and back sides of the body together (7th pic), leaving openings for the ears and arms. You may use a baste stitch temporarily to hold the pieces in place.

Since the body is still turned inside out (1st pic), insert the ears and arms into the unstitched holes (2nd pic), then attach them to the main body using a back stitch. Turn the body inside out (3rd pic). Lastly, attach the eyes and nose buttons by popping them into the body and securing them by screwing them in place.

Create the polar bear's arms (1st pic) and ears (2nd pic) similar to those of the corgi. However, unlike the corgi, you only need to use the white fluffy socks; there's no need to stitch brown and white cloth together as shown in the first picture. Don't forget to turn the pieces inside out and fill with stuffing (3rd pic).

To assemble the body, invert the sock and cut the bottom. Also cut openings for the ears and arms. Then, similar to the corgi, insert these pieces and stitch them together using a back stitch. Turn it inside out. Finally, attach the eyes and nose buttons by inserting them and securing them from the inside by screwing.

Ensure that the polar bear is facing the right side, while the corgi is flipped inside out. Fill the polar bear with stuffing and then insert the inverted corgi inside it (1st pic).

Next, temporarily stitch the edges of the corgi and bear together using a baste or running stitch, ensuring to leave an opening for the pocket. Place the pocket between the front of the polar bear and the back of the corgi (2nd pic). Finally, sew everything together using a back stitch.

This next step is optional: Reverse the plushie so the corgi faces outward. Then, use some of the remaining fluffy sock to wrap around the bottom of the corgi and stitch it in place. Finally, sew the legs made earlier onto the corgi (3rd pic).
