DIY Quick Camera Strap

This tutorial will teach you how to make a quick camera strap similar to straps such as the "Black Rapid" and "Q Strap." This style of strap is perfect for reducing stress on your neck as well as providing an easily accessible place for your gear. This Strap cost me $1.41 to build as oppose to paying nearly $70 for a Black Rapid.
Purchase Materials

For this project you will need:
Wingnut 1/4 - 20
Eyebolt 1/4 - 20
At my local Ace Hardware it cost me $1.04 for the eyebolt and $0.37 for the wingnut.

Form Locking Mechanism

This step consists of screwing the wing nut onto the eyebolt. Be sure to have the "wings" of the wing nut pointing towards the "eye" of the eyebolt.
Attach Eyebolt and Wing Nut to Camera

Simply screw the eyebolt into the camera's tripod mount. Then tighten the wing nut.
Attach Camera Strap

For this last step you attach the camera strap just like you would usually onto the camera. Be sure to tighten this strap all the way so the camera doesn't swing around on your hip.
Congratulations!

Now you have a cheap and convenient quick camera strap that rivals overpriced alternatives. This strap is great for general use and at only $1.41 you can't beat it.
