As a neuro-divergent person, I am constantly fidgeting and growing up my favorite DIY fidget toy was origami. These little frogs can hop and skip from one flat surface to the next and get some serious air. Made from paper these origami frogs are easy to doodle on and personalize however you'd like! I'll be teaching you the basics of how to DIY and create some little origami frogs to hop, skip, and jump whenever you need.

Supplies

  • Pad of sticky notes
  • Alternative: origami paper*
  • A pen

*Disclaimer: origami paper is larger, and your frogs won't hop as well.

Getting Set Up

Grab your sticky note and place it so the sticky side is facing you and the non-stick side is on a flat surface.

The First Fold

Take the bottom left corner and bring it up diagonally so the paper makes a triangle meeting in the top right corner. Then unfold the paper.

The Second Fold

IMG_1146.jpg

Repeat step two bringing the bottom right corner to the top left corner to create a triangle and then unfold the paper again.

Bring It In

Your sticky note is now broken into four triangles. Bring the right and left side triangles into the center and press down to create a pop-up triangle.

Now we are going to take the top half of the bottom right point and fold it towards the top of the triangle. And then repeat on the left side as well.

Back of the Frog

Flip your frog over to the unfolded side and bring the bottom right point to the center away from the point of the triangle and repeat on the left-hand side.

Frog Legs

Now take the edges you folded towards the center and fold them in half going towards the edge of the frog. This should create a bump on the back of your frog.

Hop to It

Now flip your frog over so it is belly side up and bring the lower one-third of the frog belly towards the center and then fold it back over itself.

Don't Forget the Arms

And now flip your frog over and press on the fold between the stomach and legs and watch it fly! And if you feel so inclined give it some eyes
