After several years being member , i decided to publish my first instructable , my DIY decorative lamp .
It is an oriental Japanese style lamp . And i'd like to use LEDs instead of other light bulbs , because its an economical solution and you can choose any color you like. Moreover , you can use RGB led driver to control a color changing lamp , which is easily found here.

Materials and Tools :

1. Wooden square bars - 2cmx2cm . Length : it' depended on your lamp's dimension . Mine is a 20cmx20cmx32cm so a length of 2m is enough for me.
2. Wooden round bars - 1cm diameter . Length : your lamp' s heigh multiplied by 4 (+ extra ) .
3. Wood hand saw and metal hand saw .
4. Wood glue, which can glue wood and paper too ,and Epoxy glue (AB glue)/ Wood putty.
5. Sandpaper.
6. Bench grinder/ Wood sander and Drill machine (6mm drill bit).
7. Flat black spray paint .
8. Translucent color paper .
9. Power LEDs and driver board :
it should be a converter from AC220V and wire connected with plug .
10. Some more things : 502 glue , wooden panels 4x4 (cm), electric glue tape ...

Or RGB LED smooth transition controller board (plz refer to database) . Or i recommend you this fade leds circuit (smooth transition of two colors ): http://www.bowdenshobbycircuits.info/page5.htm find "Fading Red Eye". But you'll need to amplify to drive power LEDs.
This following video i made to show off my artichoke lamp made of translucent paper . It's an example for using fade led circuit .
Besides showing everybody the original instructable in the end of the video , i had made an instruction , how i replace the material which the author recommends to use in original post with translucent paper. DIY Artichoke Lamp original instructable.

Another video about PWM leds .

We need 8 x 20cm bars which have the ends cut 45 degrees. Then use sandpaper or wood sander to flatten them. I dont have wood sander so i use the bench grinder to do the job , lol.

After that , glue them together with wood glue to have two frames like picture frame. Dont worry about the gaps , just passby them and make sure the frames are square.

While waiting for glue drying .We will cut 4 round bars with length = 30cm.

Then make some cuts about 1cm distance from the ends of each round bar.

Use bench grinder and a knife to whittle the ends to 6mm diameter.

Drill and Glue .

Use wood putty to fill the gaps of two frames. Wait for them drying . I used AB glue , about 4 mins hardening.

Mark the positions where you will put 4 round bars and slowly drill some holes. Test with rounds bars , Dont worry if they are loose.

Use sandpaper or wood sander to flatten them.

Put all the things together , find the best look .

Remember positions of all parts , glue 4 round bars to the top frame , only top not both , using wood glue , remember dont take apart bottom frame !

Wait for glue to dry.

I used flat black spray paint to spray the framework. But , before this step , you have to think about which kind of paper you'll use to choose the right color.
Now wait for paint to dry.
After finishing the framework , i thought about feet for this lamp . So if you are interested , make 4 feet and glue them to the bottom frame. Then spray the whole wooden framework.  See images.
The white  framework is the smallest . Because that i'll use a modern pattern translucent paper kind, i use white spray paint . Dimension are 10cm , 10cm , 17cm height. Column is 7mm diameter . It'll be used for another desk lamp project.

Choose the Right Paper.
