In this project, we as a team wanted to create a usable and effective product with reused materials. We asked our friends what they needed help organizing most, and what types of organizers they enjoyed. We also asked them what they thought of waste and what they recycled so that we could use those materials in our project. Once we were done collecting our data, we each brought in different things that we had found around our house that were no longer used, such as plastic fruit containers, old cereal and shoe boxes, cans, etc. We planned out a few different designs about what we could do with the objects, and this is what we came up with.

  • Scissors
  • Rulers
  • Hot glue gun
  • Tape

When creating, it is always very important to have a clear and straight forward goal or finished product plan. In this case, it is no different. Once you collect your materials, play around with them for a while, and use your imagination to think about what they could become and with what purpose would they be the most useful.

Once you know what you want out of each piece, and you wish to paint them, make sure to paint them first. After they are done drying, use your ruler and pencil to measure whatever you need to cut out, and use your scissors to do so.

Assembling

Use your glue gun and tape to put everything together. Make sure to test out everything and add more glue if needed.
