DIY Nutella Filled Minion Bon Bons | Minion Chocolates Recipe

Step 9.jpg
DIY Nutella Minion Chocolates | Easy Nutella Bon Bon Recipe & Tutorial | Despicable Me 3 DIY

We can’t wait to watch Despicable Me 3! This time, I made some yummy chocolates that look like Minions! They’re so cute! I filled them with Nutella, but you can fill them with anything you’d like. If you have a lot to make, or can’t find a mold, you can also use store-bought chocolates and cover them with the yellow candy melt. Set it in the fridge for a few minutes, and then decorate! These would be perfect for a Minion themed birthday party!

Watch the video above to learn how to make it!

Gather the Ingredients!

Step 0.jpg

You will need:

  • dome shaped mold
    • I found these at Dollar Tree, they’re ice cube molds. You can also search candy making stores or online for dome shaped chocolate molds
  • yellow candy melts
  • black and blue food coloring pens
  • a few zip lock baggies
  • a spatula
  • a jar of Nutella, or any filling you’d like
  • .a tray covered with wax paper
  • a pack of candy eyeballs

Melt

Step 1.jpg

First, put some candy melts into a baggie and microwave it for about 45 seconds. Knead the bag, and if it’s not melted yet, keep microwaving 10 seconds at a time until it is all melted. Make sure to not over-heat it cause it will look super yucky.

Squeeze and Tap

Step 2.jpg

Cut the corner of the bag and fill the molds all the way up. Once they’re all filled, tap the tray on the table a bunch of times to get the air bubbles out.

Tap, Scrape and Refrigerate

Step 3.jpg

Now turn the tray upside down over your wax paper and tap the tray with your spatula. Most of the candy melts will come back out, leaving a nice shell to fill. Turn it right side up and clean up the edges with your spatula. Put your mold and the tray in the fridge for about 10 minutes. (Peel off the candy melt off of the wax paper once it is set, and put it inside a baggie to use later.)

Fill 'em Up!

Step 6.jpg

Fill up a baggie with the Nutella and cut off a tiny corner. Microwave the baggie of the leftover candy melts from step 3 and snip the corner of this baggie too. Pull the tray out of the fridge and fill it 2/3’s of the way up with your filling. Tap the tray again to get all the air bubbles out of the Nutella. Now cover the rest with the yellow candy melt, make sure to not overfill the mold though. Tap again to flatten it all out. Refrigerate for another 10 minutes.

Decorate!

Step 7.jpg

Once it’s set, pop it out of the mold and start decorating. Use the black food coloring pen to make the goggles and the blue to add their clothes on. Use the left over candy melt to stick on the candy eyes.

Time to Eat!
