DIY Nunchakus (Ornamental)
I used The King Of Randoms idea with the chain and took it to the next level with nunchakus. These are not ment for fighting and with probably collapse after 5 fights, meaning they are more for a halloween costume. Anyways, I cut a wooden dowel in half, covered it in electrical tape, used a tip of a dart to penetrate a hole in it, and hammered in a little really strong metal wire thingy. Then I attached the chain to that, did the same on the other half of the dowel, and viola!
- The King Of Random YouTube
- What You Need:
- Tons of soda tabs
- Really strong metal wire thingy
- Electrical tape
- Wooden Dowel
- Saw
- Tip of dart
- Hammer/mallet
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Drill (Optional)
Step 1: Collect Soda Tabs
It doesn't really matter much about there shape, as long as you can still cut them easily. I give credit to The King Of Random on YouTube for the chain part, and did the same as him. When you have about 75 tabs, Its time to start the chain
Step 2: Make Chain
To make the chain you will need to cut slits in the thin end in each of your 75 soda tabs. Hook the thin onto the thick, bend back, 5 per each chain link. Keep going. On the ends of the chain you will want to have 3 instead of 5.
Step 3: Cut Dowel in Half and Cover in Electrical Tape
Use a saw to try and cut as best in half as possible. When done, coat each side in the tape. This is one of the easier steps.
Step 4: Hammer in the Dart Tip and Pull Out Then Hammer in Weird Metal Thing Bending It Into Shape
Your going to want a way to attach the chain, so either you can drill a hole, or like I did use a dart tip. Then put the metal thing in place using a mallet (hammers may be to strong), attach the chain, bend into shape with plirs, and repeat on other half.
Congrats, Your Done!
Now that you are done you may hang this up in your room, and everyone will be saying, "Nice Nunchakus!".
