This instructable will show you how to make a longboard press to make your own deck with a concave shape. Simply place the glued layers (learn how to make a longboard first..) of the board into the press, tighten down the bolts and leave to set for a few days. The board will then be permanently shaped.

This is intended to be more of a guideline for the design style. A lot of people have made longboards by adding weights and bits of wood about the place to try and get the shape they want. This design allows you to apply a consistent and repeatable force in the right areas to make a solid skateboard.

Assembly and Board Creation

Once you have everything ready, it's time to make your board! I thought the best way to show this would be in video form so here are two videos, one of the press itself and the other of me building a board from scratch to show you how it works.

And that's it, this is a very simple and customisable project. Dimensions are not really critical, and you can make any size or shape of board you wish. If you have any questions then please feel free to ask. The best place to do so would be in the comments section of one of these videos and I will aim to get back to you as soon as I can.
