DIY Lever Lifter

At my house we have a pretty decent sized log. It ranges somewhere around 400-500 pounds. With it weighing this much my Dad can not lift it bye himself. So why not make a lever that lifts the log for us. We used a 2x4 as the lever a smaller log as the folcrom and with this contraption my 8yr old brother could lift this.

Supplies

In this lever lifter build you will need three simple objects. (1) something heavy or something needed to be moved. (2) A folcrom (a point where your lever will rest in this case we used a smaller log). (3) A 2x4 or anything stable enough to lift the object(s).

First you will need to find something to move that you are incapable of doing. Either being a 450lb log or just a simple rock. Find this item and make sure the surrounding area is cleared. And make sure you have all the materials needed enjoy the rest. :)

Next you need to find a folcrom (fol-crum) this will be the spot where you lean the lever to flip or lift the item you need to move. Place the folcrom around 3-7 inches away fro the object that you are lifting. ( In this picture the folcrom is the tan log 4 inches away from the big heavy one).

Now take the 2x4 you have and wedge it in between the folcrom and the item you need to lift.

Now go as high as you can reach and pull the 2x4 down the log should start lifting and for proof my 8 yr old brother is lifting up the 450lb log thanks for reading my instructable and make sure to vote me I could really use the money thanks and have a great day. :)
