Hey, Makers!!

You can make anything out of popsicle sticks! If you start listing out them it will surely not come to an end. Popsicle sticks are quite popular in DIY crafts. So I thought I'd give it a try by crafting lamp shades.

I always try to craft simple things and make the instructions as easy as possible. Anyways, this lampshade is one of the easy ones, I'm sure! that you can make these lamp shades easily.

So let's make a simple and unique lamp from popsicle sticks!

Making the Sides

First, decide the design of the lampshade before making the sides. For example, Triangular Lampshade, Shutter Lampshade etc.,

For this Instructable you will need 16 pieces of popsicle sticks for the complete lamp shade because the shape I chose to make is BOX.

To complete one side of the Lampshade you require 4 pieces of popsicle sticks, so for the entire lampshade, we need 16 pieces of popsicle sticks. If you wish to make the Top and the Base for the Lampshade then you'll need 24 pieces of popsicle sticks.

Using glue-gun/fevicol join the popsicle sticks at the ends/vertex of the stick to form a square.

Cutting Sheets

The height of the shade depends on your choice but make sure the shade height is at least 3-4cm bigger(in height).

Cut a piece of white sheet/butter paper (x4 times). Use a paper cutter/scissors to cut them out.

Cut the sheets carefully and as neatly as possible.

You can also draw shapes or paint on the popsicle sticks, such as square, stars, lines, triangles etc. to make lampshade even fancier.

Put All Together

Once you've made the sides you'll have to adjust the edges of the shade accordingly, such that all the corners are exactly at 90° and this should form a Box.

Use hot glue to join all the parts together. Fold the shade 4 times equally and glue them with the side next to it.

LIGHT IT!!

I think it's better to use light bulbs not more than 40 watts and even better if you use CFL light bulb.

Fix the light and simply place the lamp shade. You can make as many as you want, change them when you're bored of the same shade.

That's all Makers... I hope you love making it!
