Hello everyone! In this DIY project, we will build an LED Light Painting Frame, or Glowing Painting Frame. This is a really easy project that anyone can make. It’s simple to build, inexpensive, and looks stunning and beautiful. You can place it on a study table or mount it on a wall. So, are you ready? Let's begin!

Building Front Frame

First, cut some strips of cardboard in the following sizes: 18 cm × 1.5 cm for the length sides, and 13 cm × 1.5 cm for the breadth sides. Cut the edges at a slant. You can now paint them or cover them with vinyl sheet or wallpaper. Then, join the pieces as shown in the image using super glue. After that, stick a piece of lamination paper or sheet measuring approximately 16 cm × 11.5 cm.

Brackets for Holding Image

Now we will create holding brackets to support the pictures. We will use ice-cream sticks to make the holders, and for the bottom support I have used a piece of cardboard.

Building Side Frame

Now we will create the side frame, using the same sizes as the front frame: 18 cm × 1.5 cm for the length sides and 13 cm × 1.5 cm for the breadth sides.

Building Back Side

Now cut a piece of cardboard the same size as the front frame (you can place the front frame on top to trace the exact border). Then, attach the side frame you created in Step 3, and after that, stick the LED strips in place.

Assemble Frame

Now assemble everything and check whether the LED is working properly. I have also attached ice-cream sticks over the joints of the front frame to cover them and give a cleaner finish.

Creating Digital Painting

Now, in this step, we will create the digital painting. The first image shows the sketched room and the shadow areas. The shadow areas will help block the light, while the white portions will allow the light to pass through, as you can see in the third image.

In the fourth and fifth images, we won’t be creating shadow areas, instead, we’ll make a color-background glowing painting. Create the line art of the image, or you can trace it by hand. Then cut the artwork into two parts as shown in images 2 and 3. Place the sketched image on top and the color print behind it.

Note: If you want printables of this image, just comment below with 'Demo Print' and I’ll provide you with a downloadable copy of all three images. If I create more in the future, I’ll share those as well.
