DIY Jewelry Holder
This jewelry holder can be used to hold earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces. It can be hung on the wall or kept on a table. You can also customize it with decorations and colors of your choice.
The materials needed are:
wood (sizes outlined in step one)
cork board
16 small nails
6 5/8in hooks
wood glue
picture hanger
hammer
screwdriver
Gather Wood Pieces
You will need:
one 14.5" x 10" board
one 14.5" x 2.375" strip
one 14.5" x 2" strip
two 2.375" x 1.5" rectangles
Attach Wood Pieces
Start by taking the bottom edge of the 14.5" x 10" board and placing it on top of the 14.5" x 2.375" strip to form a right angle and then nail the pieces together across the bottom face in the middle and at both ends.
Next, take the outer edge of the 14.5" x 2.375" and place the 14.5" x 2" strip beside it to form another right angle and nail the pieces together across the front face in the middle and both ends.
Then, place the 2.375" x 1.5" rectangles at either end of the right angles formed by the 14.5" x 2.375" strip and the 14.5" x 2" strip and nail in place putting a nail on each corner.
Apply Cork Board
Use wood glue to coat the back of a 4.5" x 8.5" strip of cork board and place it on the surface of the wood in the middle to make three panels. The three panels should be wood, cork, and then wood. Let the cork dry on to the wood. (About 20-30 minutes)
Add Hooks
Use a screwdriver to screw six holes into the surface of the wood on either side of the cork at the top of the wood section. Once the holes have been created, screw 5/8" cup hooks into place with the opening of the hook facing up.
Attach Hanger
Using two small nails, attach a picture hanger to the upper middle of the back of the jewelry holder. Do not hammer the nails all the way otherwise they may poke through the other side.
This step can be skipped if you do not intend to hang the jewelry holder on the wall.
Add Decoration and Modifications
Decorate the jewelry holder by using paint, marker, stickers, or any material you would like to achieve the desired aesthetic effect.
You may also choose to add other features such as a mesh panel across the bottom for hanging dangly earrings or a small mirror.
