DIY Hoop Earrings
Two simple and easy DIY earing designs that you can change to your liking.
Gather All the Materials That Are Nessesary.
Two make the two pairs of earrings one might want to get these materials. Of course, you can always switch out two different materials for each other. These are the materials that I found worked best and that I would recommend.
- Silver wire. 0.6mm
- wax pearls or beads white 3mm
- Silver Earring Hooks
- Long round nose plier
- cutter plier
- Soldering wire
- Soldering iron with stand
All the materials can be found in your local craft store.
Hoops With Pearls
This is a simple hoop with some beads on it. You can wear this is to any outfit. One can also change the pearls to beads or any color you like. You can also add more or take some away. These are light and dangly.
Cut the Wires
Unravel the silver wire and use the cutter wires to cut off as much as you like. Remember, the longer the wire is the bigger the hoop will be. After you have done that you can also already bend it into a circle.
Beading
Put as many beads are pearls on your wire. Remember that the more you put on the heavy the earring will be.
Soldering
This part can be a little hard if you are alone and can be dangerous so be careful.
You need to hold the wire together, hold the soldering wire to the correct spot, and then also hold the soldering iron. If you want I recommend holding the wire with a pair of pliers because it can get hot as soon as you solder it. Then you need to hold the soldering wire just a little above it, so when you hold the soldering iron it can drop down or you can just simply move the iron with melted wire to it.
If you don´t want to solder it shut you can also just twist the two ends. Then you have to be careful though because it can open easier.
Hook
Now you just need too put the hook or plug on the hoop. You can decide if you want to solder it fixed or just leave it hanging.
Hoops, Hoops, Hoops!
Now for the second pair, you might need a little longer, but it is a lot of the same thing repeating itself. For this earring, you would need to solder or it won't hold.
Cutting the Wire
Once again you need to cut the wire to the length you would like. But this time you need to remember that you won't make a circle but two, with the same wire. So make it longer than the one from before.
Cut Small Wires!
Now you need to cut for more wires. These need to be smaller, about the length of your pinky. Remember you need to wrap these around once too so that it´s double. You need to make 4 of these small ones.
Beading!
Put beads or pearls on the little wires. I put three because that seemed like a good amount to me but you can always put more or less.
More Solderig
Wrap the small wires with the beads or pearls around your pinky twice so it is double looped. Then solder one small hoop to one part of the big hoop. Add the other small hoops onto each other until it reaches across. Attache the last small hoop onto the other side of the big hoop.
Hook
Once again the last step is to add the hook. You can decide if you want to solder it together or just let it hang.
