DIY Hexagon Display Shelves

I didn't want boring normal floating shelves, so I made floating hexagons! These hexagon shelves were really easy and quick to make!

-1x6 boards of your choosing, I just used common boards from The Home Depot

-Baseboard Paint (Any white paint will do)

I measured 10" lengths of board and marked them. You could make yours whatever length you want depending on what size shelf you want to make.

Make 30-degree cuts with both facing inwards on each piece.

Cut 6 pieces per shelf.

I used masking tape to hold the pieces together, then put Gorilla Wood Glue on the joints before assembly. I used a brad nailer for final assembly, and to give the shelves just a tad more strength.

Since the boards I used weren't perfect and neither were my cuts, I used wood filler to fill in the gaps before painting.

Sand down all the wood filler and the surface of the wood to give it a better surface finish before painting.

I painted the shelves using a roller and the leftover baseboard paint from remodeling my room. You could use whatever paint you want, including spray paint.

To hang up my shelves I used D Ring hangers, I just thought they would be the best option to use for the weight and size of the shelves. Feel free to let me know what you think would work better in the comments!

Using the spacing I used on the shelves I screwed in a couple of screws in the wall and then hung up the shelves from those.
