DIY Halo Combat Knife

Hello to all, Today we are going to be making a Halo Combat knife from pallet wood I found laying around. I have made two templates, one is a Halo 2 and the other is Halo 4. Please vote for me in the Halloween and reclaimed contest.
Stuff You Need

- A piece of wood. I used some wood that I got from a pallet
- A saw. I used a scroll saw
- Paint
- Sharpie
- Paint brush
- Wood filler
- Wood glue or hot glue
Cutting Yee Wood

Trace the template on to the wood, and cut it out. I cut mine with a scroll saw, you could use a jigsaw or cooping saw.
Sanding, Beveling, and the Guard

Clean up the knife you just cut with some sand paper and start the beveling. Cut the bevel off the template and use it as a guide for beveling. You can bevel the knife in a few ways, you could use a belt sander or rotatory tool and sand at an angle. Another option is to use a knife and cut along the edge of your knife at an angle. Since I used pallet wood I had extra sanding, I also had to use some filler on my knife. For the guard cut two thin pieces of wood and glue them on to the knife.
Painting and Distressing

Paint a coat of silver on the blade. Tape off the bevel and give the whole thing a coat of black. Water down some black acrylic paint and put it on the blade then wipe it off with a rag to give it a distressed look..
Finished!

Congratulations you just your finished your Halo combat knife!. You can use this with a Spartan costume or UNSC Marine. Please vote for me and like and follow. Thanks for checking this out and see you next time!
